PHEW! What a start of the year already. Our fabulous 4GB Spy Pen is flying off the shelves (in fact they don’t even get a chance to reach the shelves!). Only this week we have

sold, packaged and delivered over 400 of these 4GB Spy Pens.

We have also discovered some great FREE applications to compliment the Spy Pen:

The first is VLC media player a FREE multi-format media player for windows which is ideal to view (just drag and drop) video files from the pen. You can view the pen’s video 

files instantly and also take still photos in .jpg format from the actual video. This, in our opinion is an invaluable application for your 4GB Spy Pen.

The second application we discovered by total accident. One of our Watford Store customers required video footage from his pen on DVD for use as evidence. After trawling the

Internet we found a couple of excellent free utilities to get theie video on to DVD.

Pazera Free FLV to AVI Converter 1.2 is a windows utility which will convert the compressed .avi file to a standard Windows Media Player .avi file. We used this software to

covert the file which we could then burn to DVD. Because our ‘lite’ version of Nero DVD Burning Software was unable to burn directly from an .avi file so we found yet another

free utility that could convert the files to burn to DVD using Nero.

AVI to DVD Converter is another free utility (you have to pay around $58USD if you want to remove the watermark) which took our Windows Media Player .avi and created the DVD

image from the file. Once the DVD image was stored on our hard disk, it was just a simple case of using Nero to get the video on to a normal DVD.

 

All in all the whole process took around 20 minutes and we had a DVD containing the video that could be played on any standard DVD player.
By the way, why did the customer want the evidence?  A gentleman was threatening to have our customer killed and it was all captured on video, from our Spy Pen! I kid you not.
